Case Study: Nu Skin Japan holds travel incentive in Singapore

Singapore – Nu Skin Japan brought 250 of its regional sales leaders for a well-deserved travel incentive to Singapore and celebrate their accomplishments at a variety of venues at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) – from Malaysian Food Street and S.E.A. Aquarium to the lively New York zone at Universal Studios.

Nu Skin Japan wanted a unique venue to host their World Star Tour 2015, which comprised a special dinner party, a casual welcome dinner, a seminar and an awards party. This major event required the oomph to take it from land to sea; from Singapore to New York. The trip was a kick-off event for the World Star Tour, honouring leaders who were committed to “Be. Duplicate. Multiply Stars.”

It was a rock star welcome for the Nu Skin’s achievers at Hard Rock Hotel®. A personalised room drop-off of Nu Skin amenities added a sense of celebrity treatment and a heart-warming surprise to the attendees while reinforcing a sense of pride and belonging.

An under the sea extravaganza was the order of the day as the three-day event kicked off with an invitation-only Team Elite Party to celebrate and recognise the sterling achievements of the company’s crème de la crème. The elegance and glamour of the Ocean Gallery at S.E.A. Aquarium set the tone for this exclusive 50-people dinner banquet, while the panoramic floor-to-ceiling marine vista became an instant icebreaker as delegates mingled and networked.

Food from the kitchen of celebrity chef Cat Cora of Ocean Restaurant teased the delegates’ taste buds over a sumptuous spread of the first lady Iron Chef’s signature dishes.

It was a nostalgia for additional sales leaders who arrived and attended the official welcome dinner party at Malaysian Food Street. All the dishes, such as KL Clay pot Rice, Penang Hokkien Mee, and Klang Bak Kut Teh, were served in sampling portions. This special arrangement not only complemented the casual dining ambience. It also allowed the 200 delegates to try out everything without over stuffing themselves. Everyone had a delightful time mingling along the “streets” of this charming old-town style casual restaurant, while indulging in some of Malaysia’s finest and most famous hawker fare.

It was lights, camera, action at the big apple on the third day where the delegates kick-started with a special seminar at Resorts World Ballroom West 2 in the morning, with breakfast conveniently served in the adjoining Resorts World Ballroom West 1. Attendees then participated in two days of special seminars to learn valuable approaches and strategies to achieve success. A message from Nu Skin CEO, Truman Hunt, motivated attendees even more!


At the end of the two-day seminar, attendees were “teleported” to the streets of the Big Apple where the New York zone was decorated in vibrant, celebratory colours. The New York Library was elegant as the red carpet was rolled out with a huge LED at the background to showcase proud moments of Nu Skin Japan and its delegates throughout the evening.

Before the dinner party commenced, delegates were treated to unlimited excitement at Lights, Camera, Action™! hosted by Steven Spielberg and TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle.


Many of the attendees were trying Malaysian food for the first time. To help attendees better appreciate the kind of food they were sampling, a menu sheet was custom created with Japanese descriptions of all the dishes, to help delegates understand these authentic hawker dishes from Peninsula Malaysia.

Another challenge was in taking the awards night to an even more effervescent atmosphere to avoid predictability and this was done when the park’s resident B-boys, The Rockafellas, took to the stage, and brought the house down with their smooth and seemingly impossible dance moves. The movie magic shone brighter when the park’s key mascots Woody Woodpecker and Wendy Woodpecker made their appearance to the delight of the delegates – photo worthy for lasting memories that were uniquely Universal Studios Singapore.


Nu Skin had an incredible start to finish. From a marine extravaganza in one of the world’s largest aquariums to a momentous celebration at Southeast Asia’s only Universal Studios theme park. The key to the success of this event was how RWS worked very closely with the Nu Skin Japan to ensure no stone was left unturned, making this one of the most extraordinary celebrations at the resort.

Resorts World Sentosa was a finalist for the 2015 Singapore Experience Awards – Business Event Venue of the Year category. The Singapore Experience Awards (SEA or Awards) honours both individuals and organisations in the tourism sector who constantly exceed expectations to create distinctive and compelling experiences.
