For years, event planners and business travellers leveraged on the possibility of extending their stay after an event or a business trip. They take the opportunity to visit a neighbouring city or in more recent times, staying put in the same city to gain more knowledge through #golocal experiences.
Sheetal Rastogi and El Kwang met frequently at familiarisation trips and press conferences. These magazine owners shared the same editorial mindset for well-being despite having very different specialised editorial visions. “We saw how our editorial vision can value-add to our respective readers. An event planner could be a leisure traveller and vice versa,” said Rastogi.
Agreeing with Rastogi’s comments, Kwang added, “Biz Events Asia readers will appreciate some of World Travel Magazine’s editorial articles in some of our editions. This exposure aims to encourage more planners to extend their stay to rest and be good to themselves.”
Rastogi has been invited to be a guest editor of Biz Events Asia’s annual Luxury Edition slated to be published in June 2017, with the possibility of bonus cross distribution in key markets. This synergy has created some dual-exposure packages that will benefit advertisers, who are now deploying B-2-B-2-C marketing tactics.
“We are always looking at ways to create more value for our readers and supporters without distracting them. It is rare to find an industry friend who shares the same belief systems, commercial vision and entrepreneurial spirit. This collaboration strengthens our business structures without saturating the market with another product,” a sentiment shared by Rastogi and Kwang.
