The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) together with SingEx Exhibitions and Deutsche Messe AG have signed an agreement to organise Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific – a HANNOVER MESSE event for three years starting 2018.
Premiering from October 16 to 18 next year at the Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre, the first Asian edition of the world’s largest trade show for industrial technology acts as a strategic boost for Singapore’s manufacturing sector, and is expected to welcome more than 150 exhibiting companies and 5,000 visitors as well as 25 speakers and 500 participants at the conference.
Industrial Transformation ASIA PACIFIC focuses on topics ranging from advanced manufacturing, smart factory and intelligent supply chain management to R&D, technology transfer and workforce development. The event will address the needs of industry sectors such as electronics, marine and offshore, aerospace, automotive, biomedical sciences, precision engineering, chemicals, oil and gas and consumer goods manufacturing.
As part of Singapore’s Committee on the Future Economy report, Advanced Manufacturing was identified as a key driver of Singapore’s future economic growth. Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific will provide a strategic boost to Singapore’s manufacturing sector by serving as its anchor event.
The event will help to catalyse the transformation of Singapore’s manufacturing sector by providing a platform for leading manufacturers and technology providers to discover the latest technologies and concepts, and to identify potential partners for co-innovation. It also brings together global leaders to share successful case studies and best practices in Asia, which can be adopted globally.
“The Committee on the Future Economy (CFE) had emphasised Singapore’s commitment to develop a globally-competitive manufacturing hub. In that regard, Deutsche Messe's partnership with SingEx Group to stage the Asian edition of the HANNOVER MESSE in Singapore is a welcome development. It will help to showcase emerging technologies and catalyse the adoption of advanced manufacturing in Singapore, by bringing together global thought leaders and key industry stakeholders. The event will also be a significant boost to our business events pipeline,” said Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) Mr S Iswaran.
The government agencies supporting this event include STB, the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, SPRING Singapore and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).
“The mission of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation is always to strengthen Singapore as a manufacturing hub, and to champion local manufacturers in the pursuit of manufacturing excellence in an increasingly digital world. With this exciting new platform, I strongly believe the key stakeholders will benefit through increasing business opportunities, building capabilities as well as transforming businesses with new business models and technology.” said Mr Douglas Foo, President of Singapore Manufacturing Federation”.
